1 適用範囲
この規格は，着用者の手を除く身体を熱及び／又は火炎から防護するための防護服の性能要求事項について規定する。
この規格の適用範囲に該当し，着用者の頭部及び足を防護する防護服は，フード，ゲートル及びオーバーブーツである。ただし，フードについては，バイザー及び呼吸用保護具の要求事項は含まない。
この規格に定める性能要求事項は，広範な用途で着用される防護服に対して，耐炎性が必要な場合，又は放射熱，対流熱，接触熱若しくは溶融金属飛まつ（沫）へのばく露が起こり得る場合に適用する。
注記 この規格の対応国際規格及びその対応の程度を表す記号を，次に示す。 ISO 11612:2015，Protective clothing−Clothing to protect against heat and flame−Minimum performance requirements（MOD）
なお，対応の程度を表す記号“MOD”は，ISO/IEC Guide 21-1に基づき，“修正している”ことを示す。
