JIS S1018:1985 pdfダウンロード。Test Methods of vibration and Earthquake Tumbling for Furniture
Scope
This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the methods for assessingthe resisting characteristics of furniture(‘) against vibrations andagainst the tumbling due to earthquakes.
Note
Remark:
The furniture herein means storage furniture such as awardrobe,a cabinet for arrangement,a bookcase, a dinnerset board, a locker, etc., of which main structural part isof a box type having rigidity.
The units and numerical values given in [ ] in this Stand-ard are in accordance with the International System ofUnits (SI) and appended for informative reference.
Definitions
The definitions of principal terms used in this Standard shall be asfollows.
vibration-proof characteristicA degree of withstandingvibration.
(2)earthquake tumbling-proof characteristicA degree ofwithstanding tumbling in earthquake.
height of gravitational centerA height of gravitationalcenter of furniture in non-storage time and under a state of 43(2) (a).
horizontal vibration standA solid smooth stand which cangenerate horizontal undirectional vibration such as a sinusoidalwave. a seismic wave, ete.
sweep testA test of which acceleration is constant and ofwhich frequency varies.
General Conditions of Test
General conditions of a test shall be in accordance with JIS S 1017.
Tests
4.1SpecimenA product is used as a specimen. A height ofgravitational center is preliminarily obtained by calculation ormeasurement, The specimen shall be put to tests in a state ready forimmediate use.
4.2Vibration-Proof TestThe vibration-proof test shall be carriedout as follows.
Further, in order to avoid danger in tumbling of a specimen, the upperpart of the specimen shall be preliminarily sustained with ample allowancewith a suspension belt or the like. Besides, sufficient care shall betaken for the safety of the test.
Test with Horizontal Vibration Stand
Testing Apparatus The testing apparatus shall be composedof a shaker,a horizontal vibration stand, and a measuringinstrument. The size of the vibration stand shall be largeenough to produce no complications in testing. The perform-ance of the vibration stand shall be sufficient to beexcited to 0.l to 0.8 G [0.98 to 7.84 m/s2) and l to 6 Hzin frequency. The floor for the vibration stand shall beselected from among a tatami mat, a carpet,a vinyl floortile, or a plywood board according to the purpose makingallowance for the conditions of the floor of a building.
Remarks 1.Though a tatami mat is laid directly on a floorhaving rigidity. a carpet and a vinyl floortile are spread on a lauan plywood board 15min thickness.
Further, for a plywood board,a lauanplywood board 15 mm in thickness is used.
Items of furniture which are supposed to befixed to a floor, a wall, and a ceiling, arefixed by a method conforming to the actualcircumstances using a SHITA WAKU (Japanese(under-frame) or the like.
Test MethodInstall a specimen which is specified in 4.1perpendicular to the shaking direction on a horizontalvibration stand taking care to give no play.
Further, select a floor material from among the floormaterials of (a, Attach accelerometers to the gravitation-al center position, crest, and positions of the installedspecimen considered necessary.
