1.scope
This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the demisting
performances and their testing methods of the windscreen defroster,hereinafter referred to as the “defrosters”, for the trucks or busesspecified in JIs D 0101.
Furthermore，this standard is also applicable to those of which-construction are in accordance with the trucks and buses,as appropriate.
Remark:In this standard，numerical values and units given in { }
are in accordance with the International System of Units(s1).
2. Definitions
For the purposes of this standard，the fol1lowing definitions apply:(1)demistThat .operation -which removes the condensed film of the moisture covering the interior surface of a daylight opening.
(2)
daylight openingwithin a front glass surface，that lighttransmitting part which has not been shaded with glass holdingembers,decorative members and the 1ike.
(3)specific_demisted area’ The area on the interior surface of adayiight opening, hereinafter abbreviated as the ” D”，sectioned by the intersecting lines of the tangential planes,upper and lower and left andright，to an eye range with theinterior surface of the daylight opening. However，the part of25 mm,along the glass surface,from the extreme end of thedaylight opening is to be excluded (see Fig- 1).
(4)effective demisted area when a defroster has been operated,that area, within the specific demisted area on the interiorsurface of a day1ight opening, which is demisted by the
defroster, hereinafter abbreviated as the ” D。”.
(5)demisted area ratioA percentage representation of the ratio of an effective defrosted area to the actual area within aspecific demisted area.
