1.scope
This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the single unit of visible light emitting diodes,(hereinafter referred to as the”light emitting diodes”) to be mainly used for indication ofelectronical equipment and apparatus.
2. Definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the definitions given in JIS C 5001,JIS C 5700 andJIs C 7036 apply.
3.Type Designation
3.1Composition of ‘Type Designation
As a rule,the type designation shall be composed in
the following arrangement.
3.2Symbols
3.2.1 Classification of Quality Evaluation The symbols denoting the quality evaluation shall follow Table i.
3.2.2Class of Discrete Semiconductor DeviceSymbols denoting the class of discretesemiconductor device shall be“1″, according 3.2.1 of JIs C 7012.
3.2.3 Discrete Semiconductor DeviceSymbols denoting the discrete semiconductordevice shall be“S” based on 3.2.2 of JIS C 7012.
3.2.4 Light Emitting DiodesSymbols denoting the light emitting diodes shall be “Q”based on 3.2.8 of JIS c 7012.
3.2.5Serial Numbers Consecutive numbers made of 2-digital or more figures (the smallestnumber: 11) shall be used to indicate the serial numbers.
3.2.6 Affixed Letters to Indicate Modifications Affixed letters to indicate the modifica-tions shall comform to 3.2.5 of JIS C 7012. They shall be used when it is necessary to dif-ferentiate the original type from the modified type. For those which have been modified from the original type, the capital alphabets,A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H, J, and K, shall be used in theorder of modification.The modified types shall have an interchangeability to any original ones,but as a rule, there shall be no interchangeability in the reversed case.
