Scope
This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the structures of tanks forstorage, under approximately atmospheric pressure, of petroleum which isliquid at a temperature not lower than atmospheric temperature and at theatmospheric pressure or of liquid similar thereto, hereinafter referred toas storage tanks, which are steel total welded circular cylinder storagetanks having fxed roof, floating roof or floating roof with fixed roof havingsufficient support force for supporting petroleum storage tank, and their bodyis assembled by welding on the ground where uniform foundation is provided.Further, this Standard applies exclusively to the body and attachmentsspecified in this Standard, and does not apply to attachments such as valvespiping,instruments, etc, connected with the nozzle and to foundation, oilpreventive embankment, painting,thermal insulating works, etc.
Furthermore, at applying this Standard, at least the following items shallbe made clear.
(1Earthquake, wind load, fallen snow load and the state of foundation
(2)Diameter, height or capacity of storage tank
Type of roof(3)
(4Kind and specific gravity of storage liquid
(5Value of corrosion allowance
6)Temperature of storage tank (metal temperature)
7Fixing position of attachments
(8)Dimensions,type,number of nozzles,standard of flange
Remarks 1.The units.and numerical values given in { }in thisStandard are based on the International System of Units(SI) and are appended for informative reference.
The attachment means a device that is fixed to the storagetank body by welding or the like.
The attaching parts mean those to be attached by usingflange and cup ring of nozzle provided on the body.However，the sheathing board (foam dam) of fxedfoam extinguisher ftted with the float roof shall beincluded in the attaching parts .
2.Materials
2.1 Construction Materials The construction materials used for storagetank shall, as a rule, be those complying with following Standards orthose having mechanical properties and chemical components equivalentor superior thereto.
2.2 Welding Materials The welding materials to be used for welding ofeach part shall be as follows:
